Weather & Wardrobe

The average temperatures for Nassau in July are high 80's during the day and high 70's at night. Of course, unseasonable weather can occur at any time. For up-to-date weather information prior to your departure, check the weather app on your smart device or visit www.accuweather.com.

Travel Attire: Comfort is key when traveling; casual, loose-fitting, layered clothing is best, such as cotton slacks, khakis, casual skirts, jeans, T-shirts, polo shirts, sports shirts and casual dresses, along with comfortable footwear.

Sportswear: Your selected activities will determine the clothing you will want to pack. For most activities, you should plan to wear a hat and sunscreen. Note: Many chemical sunscreens contain the active ingredients oxybenzone and octinoxate that can cause a serious threat to marine life. You may want to consider packing sunscreen designated as "reef-safe" or "reef-friendly."  These are readily available in popular brands such as Sun Bum and Hawaiian Tropics.

  • Beach/Pool Activities: Make sure you pack a swimsuit with a cover-up and flip-flops, sandals or athletic/tennis shoes for the pool. Note: Swimsuits should only be worn in the beach and pool areas.
  • Catamaran Sail/Snorkel: Swimwear, a cover-up and non-slip shoes are suggested. You will also want to bring along a change of clothes.
  • Dolphin Swim: For this activity, wear swimwear and pack a change of clothes. Note: No jewelry or perfumes are allowed.
  • Golfing: Appropriate golf attire includes collared golf shirts paired with walking shorts, lightweight slacks or modest-length skirts.  The course allows soft spike or spikeless golf shoes, athletic shoes or any other flat-soled shoes.  Note: Cutoffs, T-shirts, tank tops, abbreviated shorts, denim, metal spikes, workout attire, swimwear or sandals are not permitted.
  • Shopping/Touring: Cotton slacks, khakis, casual skirts, walking shorts, jeans, T-shirts, polo shirts, sports shirts and casual dresses are well-suited for sightseeing and shopping. Be sure to pack comfortable and sturdy walking or athletic shoes.
  • Spa/Fitness Center: Comfortable T-shirts, shorts or sweatpants, and athletic shoes are ideal for utilizing the resort's spa or fitness center.
  • Water Sports/Activities at the Resort: Wear a swimsuit with a cover-up or T-shirt.  You will also want to wear a hat and sunscreen.

Business Casual Attire: The Blue Diamond Awards & Business Presentation calls for business casual attire, such as casual pants and collared sports shirts for men and casual dresses, skirts and blouses or pants and tops for women. Note: Shorts and flip-flops are not permitted.

Casual Evening Attire: Women will be appropriately dressed in casual dresses, skirts and blouses or pants and tops. Men will find casual pants and collared sports shirts to be appropriate. You may want to bring a blazer, sweater or jacket for cool evenings. If you choose a more upscale restaurant for your dinners at leisure, you'll want to pack something a bit dressier.

Packing Tips

  • Be sure to put half of each person's clothing in separate suitcases in case your luggage is delayed or lost. This will ensure that each of you has something to wear until your luggage catches up with you.
  • Pack a change of clothes for a 72-hour period in your carry-on bag in the unlikely event that your luggage is delayed.
  • You may wish to weigh your luggage prior to departing for the airport to ensure that it is not over the weight allowance set by your airline.
